News 12th April 2024

Club news

ShuttlecockIt's time to dig out the badminton kit again because club nights begin again on Wednesday 17th April. The down side is you will have to find £75 for the spring/summer season - but come on, you know it's good value for money.

Upcoming matches

Player graphicThe last match for our Ladies team was on the 12th March, which ends their run for this season. So, no more competitive action until Autumn 2024 (but club nights continue through the summer).

Match Results

Scoreboard imageSt Leonards were the visitors on 12th March for Sidmouth Ladies final match, and eight points would have been enough to lift them off the bottom of the league table. The pairing of Grace and Phoebe did well to collect 2 points, but St Leonards were too strong overall, amassing the other 16.

Don't know where this came from

A couple were woken at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on the door. The man answers it. A drunk, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.

"Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3:00 in the morning!" He slams the door and returns to bed.

"Who was that?" asked his wife.

"Just some drunk guy asking for a push," he answers.

"Did you help him?" she asks.

"No, I didn't. Its 3:00 in the morning and its pouring rain out there!"

"Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Three months ago we broke down, and two guys helped us. I think you should help him."

The man goes out into the pounding rain. He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?"

"Yes," comes back the answer.

"Do you still need a push?" calls out the husband.

"Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark.

"Where are you?" asks the husband.

"Over here on the swing."
