About Sidmouth Badminton Club

Sidmouth, in East Devon, has had a badminton club for over 65 years, and has entered teams in the Exeter & District Badminton League for most of them.  Starting on one court in the Drill  Hall (first picture) on Sidmouth sea front, it moved in 1981 to the newly opened Sidmouth Sports Centre, its present home.  The other picture shows members in action in the Centre. Over time, the club has grown, offering a friendly atmosphere to all those who play and enjoy the fast, exciting sport of Badminton.  Its membership ranges from social players to League competitors. Some play at Devon County level.  Everyone - teenagers, over 40's and even over 65's - enjoy the regular club evenings. The club is proud of its links to the Junior Badminton Club and welcomes youngsters as their proficiency improves.

Members of the club are affiliated to the national body, Badminton England, and to the Devon County Badminton Association.

The club also organises social and fundraising events which are always enjoyed by members.
